Uzi Haymann

Uzi Heymann was born in Israel. He was a scholarship recipient in the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, Israel, where he studied with Prof. Bracha Eden and Dr. Asaf Zohar, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in piano performance in 1995. In 1997, he was granted with an excellence-based scholarship at the Indiana University, USA, where he completed his post-graduate degree in piano performance with Prof. Leonard Hokanson a pupil of Artur Schnabel. Uzi is specialized in chamber music and lieder, and has worked with several ensembles and singers. He has performed in several countries such as collaborations with the contemporary music ensemble Kaprizma in Israel, and several concerts in Brazil and the USA. He plays regularly the repertoire for clarinet and piano with his brother Rani Heymann, and the duo collaborates with different musicians. He is a member of the Trio Acoustique (piano, clarinet, and bassoon), and the Amaryllis Ensemble (soprano, clarinet, and piano). Uzi started to teach in 1986 and has a broad international teaching experience. He teaches piano, chamber music, and music theory for all levels and ages in four different languages (Hebrew, English, Portuguese, and Dutch).He was a piano assistant instructor in the Rubin Academy of Music (Jerusalem, Israel), and in Indiana University (Bloomington, USA). He was a piano teacher staff member of the Israeli Valley Conservatory (Israel), and in the pre-college program in Indiana University (USA). In 2002, Uzi started teaching piano in the American school of The Hague in Holland, and since 2007 he also teaches in the International Center for Ensembles in The Hague.
